What is a bully stick?

A bully stick is one whole organ — beef pizzle — slow oven-dried until it is hard enough to take real chewing. There is one ingredient in it and nothing else: no binder, no glycerin, no smoke flavor, no coating. Unlike rawhide it breaks down in the gut rather than swelling.

Which size does my dog need?

Match length to weight. Under 25 lb takes a 4-inch stick, 25–60 lb takes a 6-inch, and 60 lb and over takes a 12-inch. If a determined chewer finishes too fast, step up in thickness before length — a jumbo of the same length gives far more chew per session.

Do they smell?

These do not. Every batch is slow oven-dried and air-checked before packing, which is what removes the smell people associate with cheaper pizzle. The same is true of every chew in the range, lamb collagen and lamb tripe included: all odor free. Picky dogs take to the tripe for its flavor, not for anything you can smell.

What varies between sticks?

Thickness. Pizzle is a natural cut and no two sticks are identical, so a bag holds a range and the thick ends last longest. That is a property of the material, not a defect in the batch.
